One of the finest known homes in the settlement was the home of General Edmund Hogan of the Missouri Territory; the home was built in 1812.General Hogan was part of the legislature of the Missouri Territory, which was then part of Arkansas and he was also appointed the first postmaster.A plat for the future town to be called Crystal Hill was registered in 1821 by General Hogan. Now there is no record of this plat.
In 1967, the city was back on the market when an insurance executive and businessman, Jess Odom bid on 5,000 acres to build a town on.Odom created the Maumelle Land Development, Inc. and formed a perfect plan for model community that people of all backgrounds, income levels and interests could live in peace and harmony. The first family to move in to this new town chose Club Manor Subdivision for their new modern home.
