Chenal Valley is located in the west central part of Little Rock, Arkansas.  Chenal Valley is a recently developed community, the name came from Shinnall Mountain, a popular mountain in the area.  The spelling of Chenal Valley mimics the French language, making the community an upper-class development of residential and commercial buildings.

Chenal Parkway is the main thoroughfare, made up of a four-lane road that mainly connects Highway 10 to Little Rock's western Financial Center business district.  Just north of Arkansas 10 is the northwestern terminus of Chenal Parkway, at Highway 300.  Highway 300 is close to the neighborhood, Pinnacle Valley.  Sitting at Autumn Road is the southeastern terminus, this road is connector to Financial Center Parkway along with a connector to Interstate 630 at Shackleford Road.

Since 1990, Chenal Valley has been known as a rapidly developing community.  The establishment of the Chenal Country Club along with many new homes being built, aided in the rapid growth.  Homes in Chenal Valley real estate offer single-family homes, condominiums, town-homes and apartments, which are scattered around the west central part of Little Rock.  Much of the area has kept its wooded areas since pre-development.

Chenal Valley's eastern commercial corridor is populated with many mass-market retailers, near the Financial Center area.  Many of these include leading industries such as Barnes & Noble, Home Depot, Target, Kroger and Wal-Mart.  The Nuvell, a unit of GMAC Financial Services calls Chenal Valley home; this company plays an important role in the city's employment. 

Chenal Valley was built around the Chenal Country Club.  The club was established to advance the social, professional and recreational interests of its members; all in a socially relaxing atmosphere.  The Chenal Country Club founders has a vision of a unique place that would provide its members and guests with the opportunity for fellowship and social enjoyment.

Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed this world-class championship golf course, which offers a clubhouse, a swimming complex and lighted tennis courts.  The Chenal Country Club is combined with informality and elegance to make up the very popular Chenal experience.

Education in Chenal Valley is provided by the Little Rock School District (LRSD).  There is a total of 64 schools in the district with more on the way.  Currently thirty-one elementary schools, eight middle schools and five high schools make up the school district along with one accelerated learning center, one adult education center, two alternative schools, one early childhood center and one career-technical center.  The district employs over 3,8000 people.

There is two major universities in the area: University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and University of Arkansas at Little Rock both are part of the University of Arkansas System.

There are seven private schools in the area and the Lions World Services for the Blind is located here also.  This center is the best rehabilitation center in the world for the visually impaired and blind.  The center was established with the hopes for individuals to learn how to be independent in today's society; the center was founded in 1947.

There is tons of recreational opportunities and attractions that surround Chenal Valley, the wonderful climate of a subtropical climate zone aids these many opportunities.  There is indoor and outdoor activities to keep you busy, year round.  Indoor activities include museums, theaters, music halls and performing arts centers along with some very unique shopping centers and delicious restaurants.  Outdoor activities include parks, playgrounds, picnic areas, ball courts, ball fields, golf courses, swimming, hiking, tours, water parks and zoos.
